The world of fun at Camp goes well beyond traditional activities. The day includes opportunities for campers to pursue a wide variety of new challenges and games as well as be a part of good old camp fun.
Beach Day
Once a session it's time for us to pack up our sun-screen, shovels, buckets, sunglasses and towels and head to the beach. Beach Day at Bill Larry is an enduring favorite where the kids can lounge at Hampton Beach State Park, brave the surf, build a sand castle, and play some beach sports together. Our staff section off an area of the beach and act as life guards, performing head-counts every 45 minutes. During that time, we also apply generous amounts of sunscreen. In the evening, the campers return to William Lawrence for a cook out. Whether you're a junior who loves the sandy waves, or a senior who just enjoys... bird watching, beach day has something for everyone. |

Minor League Baseball Days

One of our two all camp excursions out, is to a minor league baseball game with either the Portland Sea Dogs, or the Manchester Fisher Cats. This incredibly fun day brings our campers all the excitement of professional league baseball, while allowing us to stay relatively close to home. It also gives us the unique opportunity of bringing our legendary camp spirit to the bleachers of the stadium. Here campers are also allowed to indulge in the park food vendors with money provided to them out of their camp account. The evening is wrapped up with a fantastic fireworks show and then it's time to return home with memories to last a long time. |
Enjoy volleyball or knockout. Play ultimate Frisbee or Frisbee golf. Participate in regular Blue/White competitions and the monthly Olympic Day. Pass eighteen tests to become a member of the Braves Honor Society; the tests challenge camper knowledge and skill mastery in many areas of camp life, such as outdoor living skills, astronomy, boating and swimming as well as camping overnight on your Lone Vigil. Community Service opportunities are also available.
Each day begins with flag-raising and a gathering in our inspiring outdoor chapel for Password, a thought for the day. Evening programs are varied and include Capture the Flag, skit nights and dances for seniors with area girls camps. Enjoy unit campfires with smores and singing. Dress in togas for Gladiator Night or as your favorite movie star on Movie Star Day. Be a candidate for Director on election day.
Each month, campers venture out to the ocean for beach day, attend a minor league baseball game or go bowling.The end of each month brings the traditional General Store Run, Carnival Night and our Candlelight Ceremony.
