Please watch this important message regarding our For Lawrence We Stand, 2020 COVID-19 Relief Fund campaign.

Dear WLC Community,

Now that we have fully assessed the impact of a summer without camp, we need your financial support more than ever. It is time to regain our financial footing as we roll out our For Lawrence We Stand Campaign, COVID Relief Fund. Our goal is to raise $250,000 over the next two years. This is essentially the amount of money we will lose this fiscal year. We quickly have cut costs since it became clear that the summer season was in jeopardy and we have been pursuing disaster relief funds and other grants. We will be digging deep into most of our unrestricted funds and borrowing money as well. With our future at risk, particularly with the knowledge that COVID will impact us not just this year but next, it is imperative that we raise funds. Now, more than ever before, William Lawrence Camp needs your support.

One of the most important elements of this campaign is participation. We need everyone reading this, everyone who has a memory from WLC to donate, irrespective of the amount. $250,000 represents 250 friends of the camp giving an average of $1,000. But we would really like to have hundreds more folks giving whatever they can. There will be those that give more than $1,000 and those that give $25. Any donation is valued and appreciated. Sustained giving is also a way to contribute while not having a major impact on your wallet. If you have an extra $10 a month to give and you give over two years, that’s $240 that has truly made an impact.

Sincerely,

Nat Crane

WLC COVID-19 Update 7

Dear WLC Family,

We are heartbroken about pausing our traditional camp program this summer and we miss our WLC family!
So here's what we are thinking...

  • We are looking into having families come to camp to use the facilities this summer.
    • Families would use the facilities similar to a campground and would assume the responsibility for their own entertainment, health and safety.
    • Families would each be assigned their own cabin which includes 4 bunk beds and 2 single beds, all with camp mattresses. Families would also be assigned a toilet, shower and sink in the male wayside and in the female wayside. Families would be responsible for keeping these areas cleaned and sanitized.
    • We would provide outdoor BBQ grills and campfire sites for families to cook their own food.
    • We would limit the number of families on site to 6 at any one given time.
    • We ask that families stay for 2 or more nights.
    • This would be donation based use with no cost associated
    • If you are interested please click this link to fill out a quick survey.
    • Once we open registration for this, it will be a first come first serve basis
  • In an effort to make sure the boys stay connected even when they're not on site, we recently sent an email to our 2019 and 2020 families asking for camper contact information in order to create a Camper Directory. If you have not yet filled out this information please click this link to do so.
  • We'd like to introduce our VIRTUAL BROG Competition!
    • In the coming weeks, BROG Team Captains will be organizing their first team Zoom calls - This is for staff and campers who have a BROG team assignment from their time at camp.
    • Each week we will send out a list of 2-5 challenges, via email, Facebook and Instagram, that the boys will have to complete and submit evidence of.
    • There will be points assigned to each challenge and the teams will also gain points for every submission.
    • Challenges include such things as building and lighting a fire, a fishing derby, creating a WLC TikTok video and many others. Some of the challenges will be individual while others will requires the boys to contact their other team members. If you or your son has any suggestions for challenges, please email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

In other news, 2000s Alumn, Graham Pollard, has taken on the massive feat of crossing the country via a Segway Scooter in order to raise funds for WLC. He will ride at a maximum speed of 18.6 MPH over 4000 miles. He credits his ambition and confidence to his time spent at William Lawrence Camp. To learn more about Graham and his cross country trip and to support his effort please visit the GoFundMe Page by clicking this link.

We are so grateful for those that have come up to give a us hand on the Knoll. Thank you to Jon Ceru, Ryan Pitcarin, Kevin O'Neil, Thomas Cleary and his wonderful girlfriend, Rebecca, John Webster and Ross Fidler for all your hard work!

If you're interested in spending a day helping out please give us a call 603-569-3698.

We hope to see you all back on the Knoll soon!

WLC COVID-19 Update 5

May 22, 2020

WLC COVID-19 Update 5

Dear WLC Family,

Here is the latest on what we're working on...

  • We are continuing to think about our options for summer 2020!  In addition to the 4-week option we presented a couple of weeks ago, another option we are thinking is that maybe we could welcome those campers, AND their families, who are working on Woodsman tests to come spend a week at camp. While family members enjoy a camping-like experience, campers would take and pass tests to get closer to becoming a Woodsman. In addition to weekly virtual sessions, our Leaders in Training (LITs) would be onsite for two weeks for Lifeguard and Leadership Training. Governor Sununu's comments regarding resident camps being problematic, although not a final decision on their opening, have given us pause. In the meantime we have received guidelines from the American Camp Association and the CDC. Let's just say they are more onerous and will have a greater effect on the program than we had even dreamed. The health and safety of our campers and staff on site this summer is of paramount importance to us.
  • We still have a Final Payment Due Date of June 15th in the chance that we are able to operate a summer camp schedule. In the event that we have to delay summer camp to 2021, those families that have paid will have the option to receive a full refund, including their deposit, roll their deposit to summer 2021 or donate their deposit to WLC operating costs. Click here for our updated COVID-19 cancellation policy.
  • Thank you to those that joined us for our Re-ZOOM-ions! We are planning future Re-ZOOM-ions and hope that everyone will join again and invite friends that may have missed the call. These are a great opportunity to share memories, pictures and time with your WLC family.
  • We have cancelled our work weekends but we hope that you and a friend will be able to come up for a day to work at camp. Please let us know if and when you'd like to come help out. Weekdays work better for us but are happy to set you up for a weekend.

There are a few things we would love for you to be doing while stuck at home...

  • Stay safe, healthy and optimistic!
  • Remember that a community is a community whether in-person or virtual. You're part of our family and we want to connect with you in any way you feel comfortable!
  • Help us ensure our contact information for you is accurate! Our new interns, Nick White and Ryan Alt, will be reaching out to ensure that we have the most updated information in our database for you - please respond to them.
  • If you don't have social media, see our updates on our website under WLC at Home (https://www.wlcamp.org/wlc-at-home.html) and in the announcements on the Homepage.
  • Join us every Wednesday at 4pm EST on Zoom (click this link https://zoom.us/j/98882030619 each week) to play WLC Trivia.
    • Questions are designed for all age groups and include some non-WLC trivia such as sports and music.
    • Don't be afraid to join, even if you want to keep your camera off and muted. We'd just love to see you participate!
  • Follow us on Instagram @williamlawrencecamp
  • Friend Bill Larry on Facebook (you must have a Facebook account) so you can watch "The Most Interesting Man on the Knoll" updates.
  • Follow the William Lawrence Camp Page on LinkedIn (you must have a LinkedIn account).
  • Consider WLC when you're thinking about charitable contributions. Click here to make an online donation.
  • Please do not remit any further payments for summer 2020 until you receive an update from us. As a reminder, at this time, June 15th is the new final payment due date.
  • Keep day-dreaming about William Lawrence Camp and join us virtually!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
